Premierul Benjamin Netanyahu a adus un omagiu profund și personal fratelui său, Yoni Netanyahu, căzut în timpul Operațiunii Entebbe.

El l-a descris pe Yoni ca pe o combinație rară de forță liniștită, determinare și un simț clar al scopului – un lider și un model pentru generații întregi de luptători și tineri israelieni.
„Când mi s-a spus că Yoni a căzut… am simțit că viața mea s-a încheiat. Nu era doar pierderea unui frate iubit. Era pierderea unei ancore”, a mărturisit premierul.
Netanyahu a adăugat că, de-a lungul timpului, a înțeles că Yoni nu a lăsat doar eroism în urmă, ci și un drum și o moștenire care continuă să inspire. Astăzi, când trimite soldații în luptă, vede în fiecare dintre ei „ca și cum ar fi fratele meu”.

He described Yoni as a rare combination of quiet strength, determination, and a clear sense of purpose – a leader and a role model for generations of fighters and young Israelis.
“When I was told Yoni had fallen… I felt my life had come to an end. It wasn’t just the loss of a beloved brother. It was the loss of an anchor,” the Prime Minister confessed.
Netanyahu added that over time he came to understand that Yoni left behind not only heroism, but also a path and a legacy that continues to inspire. Today, when he sends soldiers into battle, he sees each one of them “as if he were my brother.”
“I miss you, Yoni, my beloved brother. You are deeply missed,” Netanyahu concluded.

"כשסיפרו לי שיוני נפל... הרגשתי שהחיים שלי הסתיימו. זה לא היה רק אובדן של אח אהוב. זה היה אובדן של עוגן", הודה ראש הממשלה.
נתניהו הוסיף כי עם הזמן הבין שיוני לא השאיר רק גבורה, אלא גם דרך ומורשת שממשיכה להעניק השראה. כיום, כשהוא שולח חיילים לקרב, הוא רואה בכל אחד מהם "כאילו הוא אחי".
"אני מתגעגע אליך, יוני, אחי האהוב. אתה חסר לי מאוד", סיים נתניהו.
