Luni seara, la ora 20:00, a răsunat în Israel o sirenă, timp de un minut, marcând începutul Zilei Memoriale pentru soldații căzuți în războaie și victimele terorismului.
ANIMA NEWS - La ceremonia oficială de la Yad LeBanim din Ierusalim, premierul Benjamin Netanyahu a declarat că „războaiele reprezintă renașterea”. El a spus că statul Israel a fost creat tocmai pentru ca evreii să poată răspunde cu forță dușmanilor lor, spre deosebire de perioada exilului.
Netanyahu a subliniat că în ultimii doi ani și jumătate Israelul a purtat un război pe multiple fronturi, cum nu s-a mai văzut de la Războiul de Independență, și că lupta împotriva Iranului nu s-a încheiat încă.

בטקס הרשמי ביד לבנים בירושלים אמר ראש הממשלה בנימין נתניהו כי "מלחמות - זהו תחייה". הוא אמר כי מדינת ישראל נוסדה דווקא כדי שיהודים יוכלו להגיב בכוח לאויביהם, בניגוד לתקופת הגלות.
נתניהו הדגיש כי בשנתיים וחצי האחרונות ישראל ניהלה מלחמה רב-זירתית שלא נראתה כמותה מאז מלחמת העצמאות, וכי המאבק באיראן עדיין לא הסתיים.
נשיא המדינה יצחק הרצוג השיב בעקיפין ואמר כי "הגיע הזמן שהדור של המלחמה יעז לחלום על היום שאחרי המלחמה".
